A verified MCP server gallery for VS Code and Copilot

Rows of dark server outlines, less than a third lit, the rest dim

An IDE's MCP server gallery is a client of one API, the MCP Registry v0.1, and any registry that serves it can be the gallery. Neuronto now does, at https://neuronto.com, and at https://neuronto.com/verified for only the servers whose endpoint answered when we checked. Building it meant reading every record of the official registry. Of the 19,551 remote endpoints we checked, 12,359 answered an MCP handshake.

What changed

VS Code, Visual Studio, JetBrains IDEs, Eclipse, Xcode and the Copilot CLI all read their MCP server gallery from a URL that serves the MCP Registry v0.1 API, and a GitHub organization can set that URL for everyone through its Copilot policy. Neuronto serves that API now. Point the setting at it and the gallery shows what Neuronto knows about each server beside the record itself: whether the endpoint answered, when, how many tools it listed, and how many liveness probes it passed. Setup is on one page.

What reading the whole official registry shows

The registry's API returns one record per server version. Walking all of it on 3 November 2026, deleted records included:

MeasureCount
Servers57,607
Versions215,711
Versions marked deleted3,950
Versions with no package and no remote, so nothing a client can connect to1,872
Versions that fail the registry's own published schema222

The last row matters more than its size. A strict client validates a page of results against the schema, and one bad record can cost the whole page. The 222 are left out here, and so are the 1,872 a client would drop anyway.

Do the remote endpoints answer?

37,537 servers in the registry offer a remote endpoint in their latest version. For 19,551 of them, the endpoint is one Neuronto has already sent an MCP initialize to:

AnswerEndpointsShare
Completed the handshake12,35963.2%
Asked for sign-in (401 or 403)4,72324.2%
Asked for payment (x402)1370.7%
Failed2,33211.9%

A request for sign-in or payment is a working server behaving as designed, so it counts as verified. Together with being reachable at the last liveness check, that gives 17,015 servers in the verified gallery. The rest stay in the full gallery at https://neuronto.com, with what was observed recorded beside them.

Built to stay out of the way

The registry is a daily snapshot, built outside the serving process once Neuronto's index has been refreshed, and swapped in whole. A page of results never mixes two snapshots, a cursor stays valid across a rebuild, and every response names its snapshot in an X-Registry-Snapshot header. It is read-only: publishing still happens at the official registry, and a new server appears here from the next snapshot.

Use Neuronto from your agent

One call searches this index and every other public ARD registry. No key, no signup. Or install it as an MCP server and let the agent search from the interface it already speaks.
