Proving a domain gives you an API key scoped to that domain alone. You need it for one thing: registering internal services that only your own key can search. Being listed and being found need no proof at all.

Three steps

  1. Ask for your record. The value is derived from your domain and never changes, so asking again does not invalidate a record you already published.
    curl -X POST https://neuronto.com/claim -d '{"domain":"example.com"}'
  2. Publish the TXT record it returns on your domain. Its value starts with neuronto-site-verification=.
  3. Verify. DNS changes can take a few minutes to become visible; if the record is not seen yet, the answer says so and you can simply try again.
    curl -X POST https://neuronto.com/claim/verify -d '{"domain":"example.com"}'
The answer carries your key. It is shown once and cannot be recovered.

What the key can do

Read and write private entries for that domain, and nothing else. Private entries are held in separate storage from the public index, are returned only to your key, and are never counted in any public figure.

If you only want to be listed

Submit your endpoint or your domain instead. No DNS record, no key. Setup for every client is on /connect.
